Because Rayovac batteries have a shelf-life of over 3 years, buying them by the box is the most economical way to buy them.  Store batteries in a cool, dry place... but not in the refrigerator!  If you store them in the refrigerator, condensation can form under the stickers, causing a dead battery before you even remove the sticker!
